Fr. J. Victor Carrier, Pastor, Holy Cross Parish
We are very excited at Holy Cross! After more than one year of preparation and search, we happily announce the hiring of a Coordinator of Youth Ministry for our parish. Dwight M. Szarkowski comes to us from Florida. He is the son of Michael and Geraldine Szarkowski of Winton Street. Dwight has had experience as a parish coordinator of youth ministry and Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry for the Diocese of Jacksonville, Florida. He is fondly known as "Dewey" and is looking forward to getting to know us. He is beginning immediately to look at the needs and vision of our parish to share his ministry with us all. Dewey will be looking forward to meeting you and working to provide some exciting programs for our youth. Please welcome him with open arms and pray for him faithfully.

Rev. Leo Hoar gets proper recognition
On April 29, Springfield College honored the Rev. Leo Hoar, longtime professor and founding director of United Campus Ministries. The new Richard B. Flynn Campus Union now houses the “Fr. Leo Meditation Room.”
A priest of the Diocese of Springfield since 1966, Father Leo is known for his commitment to guiding students, faculty and staff to a global understanding and love for people of all nationalities, races, religious and economic situations.
For many years, he has assisted the people of Haiti and other countries by establishing missions and leading groups of students and staff to help maintain them. Congratulations to Fr. Leo Hoar, we are proud to know him as priest and friend.
