Religious Education
Mission:
To educate and strengthen our youth in the Catholic Faith
To experience the living presence of God through Liturgy and the Sacraments
To learn to value both Scripture and Tradition
The Holy Cross Religious Education Program supports the faith journey of our parish children as they learn to identify more closely with both the Catholic Faith and the Catholic community by participating in weekly religious education classes, special activities, and sacramental preparation. The objective of the program is that all students experience Jesus in their lives so that they may live, and bear witness to, the Gospel message. The success of the program depends on the involvement and active support of the entire parish community through prayer, service as volunteer teachers, and participating in special program events, and as role models in the faith formation process.
While many of the volunteers to this Religious Education Mission make a significant commitment of their time to teach weekly classes, there are opportunities for parishioner involvement in a much more limited role. There are opportunities to assist with the preparation of particular events and activities.
