Administration and Finance Board: Renovation Fund News

Over the last several months, Father Vic has asked the Administration and Finance Committee to examine the physical plant of the church, school and rectory in order to establish a priority list of projects which need attention and that will be paid for out of the monthly renovation collection.  The following are the top four:

1. Rectory boiler- The present boiler, which is original and over 40 years old, is well oversized, highly inefficient, and has been bandaged to get by over the last two winters.  We have undertaken an energy analysis and are presently receiving prices to remove the existing boiler and possible asbestos and install a smaller energy efficient boiler.

2. Gymnasium entrance- Replace the rotted wood, punched out windows and doors to the entrance of the gym.  We are also going to have the floor in the entrance area repaired.

3. Sidewalk between the church and the rectory- Replace the sidewalk and improve drainage.  There is a lot of standing water and ice build-up in the cold months and seepage into the basement gathering room in the rectory.

4. Painting the exterior trim of the church- It has been nearly eight years since we vinyl sided and painted the trim of the church.  It is time to redo the painted areas- doorways, cupola and trim.

We will update you monthly on the costs of each item, the amount collected in our monthly effort, as well as the balance in the revovation account.  Thank you for your continued financial support.
